Top cleric deprecates scurrilous language of Wahhabi Muftis
In a letter to the Head of the Saudi Arabia Muftri, Top Iranian cleric, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi deprecated the scurrilous languages Wahhabi Muftis utilized.
Senior Iranian cleric and professor of Qom Seminary, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, in a letter to Head of the Saudi Arabia mufti, Abu Aziz Al-Sheikh deprecated the scurrilous language Wahhabi Scholars utilize, reported Siasatrooz Online.
Pointing to the scurrilous language Abu Aziz Al-Sheikh used against Shia people, the Grand Ayatollah underlined,” this is not the first time we heard such illogical remarks.”
“Such remarks divulge the fact that Wahhabis elude from logical conversations and resort to using libel, canard and disrespectful language,” said Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi adding that disrespecting Shia Muslim gladdened the enemies.
Senior cleric in his letter reminded the Arab mufti of the teachings of holy Qur'an wondering, "How can you forget the teachings of Qur'an where it recommends a polite way for inviting people to God while you have chosen stigmatization, lying and disrespecting Shia?"
“Unfortunately you are not cognizant of the history of Islam since the name of Shia was selected by the prophet of Islam for the followers of Imam Ali (PBUH) and it was common at that time,” the Senior Cleric mentioned.
“Would not it be better to take a look at the history of Islam?” Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said as underlined,“ Hundreds years ago before Safavieh, Shia people had lived in Mecca, Medina, Iraq, Sham, Egypt and Iran and they even run countries.”
In another part of this letter he reminded Saudi mufti of Iranian and Lebanese Shia influence saying that, "Had not they exist, the Zionist regime of Israel and the US would rule the whole region in the Middle East now."
"When the Zionist regime of Israel was ravaging people in Gaza, who were mainly Sunni, it was Shia Muslims of Iran and other parts of the world that supported them the most." said top cleric and reminded Saudi grand mufti of Shia Muslim scientists and scholars who comprise the majority of the Muslim world scholars.
Referring to the offence of the Wahhabi scholar to the Shia, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi warned that any stigmatization or excommunication of the Shia is a great service for the enemies of Islam particularly Israel and the US.
He said that such moves lead to spreading hatred of the Wahhabis among Shia community and consequently the animosity between them would grow which is in turn a good opportunity for the enemies to loot the wealth and resources in the region.
Professor of Qom Seminary also said if meetings had been held between Shia and Wahhabi scholars, some misunderstandings and referential mistakes would be discussed so that Muslim unity would not be targeted.
Iranian jurisprudent asked Wahhabi mufti to start an amicable relation and so that Wahhabis and Shia would make joint moves for promotion of Islam.
